Services

Some of our favorite projects start with a simple question: "Can you help me figure this out?" Whether you need a custom closet, built-in storage, a kitchen or bathroom update, or guidance planning a larger remodel, we'll help you find a solution that fits your home and your budget.

Guided Remodeling

What does “guided remodeling” mean? Instead of preparing a bid based on allowances, which are often under-bid, and homeowners end up going “over budget,” we take you through a guided process that yields a bid that’s 99% accurate. (Sans anything weird we find hidden in your walls!)

What do steps to the guided process look like for a remodel?

  1. Establishing your floor plan. We take measurements, spend time talking about the functionality of your space, needs, wants, desires. We put together 2D and 3D renderings of your space that we present to you.

  2. After we’ve established your floor plan, we start working on finishes. We gather together samples of flooring, cabinets, counters, tile, lighting, hardware, paint samples, etc. We present all of this to you for your approval!

  3. After the floor plan and the finishes have been decided we call in our team of licensed professionals to bid out the labor end of your project, so we can accurately present a bid to you.

  4. YOU accept the proposal, WE get started!

Kitchen Refacing

Don’t have the budget to fully gut your kitchen down the studs? Let’s consider refreshing your current cabinets, make minor changes to your floor plan, get you new countertops, new backsplash, new hardware, new fixtures and make it LOOK as if you’d ripped everything down to the studs!

Custom Closets

A specialty over here at Elements and Principles! We LOVE taking a challenging space, where storage needs to be improved, and designing a system to fit into that space to make it more functional! Custom closet design is great for master closets, kids closets, pantries, angled spaces, offices, mudrooms, garages, craft rooms, toy rooms, lofts, or anywhere you have an empty wall, and need something!

Spatial Planning

If your sofa is a part of the “soggy bottom boys” collection, and you are ready for some major updates in your social areas, we would love to partner with you to procure new furniture, new flooring, wall colors, window treatments, accessories, etc!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your costs?
We like to keep it simple over here at Elements and Principles! We only charge for time, wrapped up in a little package listed below. During your inquiry, we will be able to determine which package you fall into. A package structure not quite your jam? Call, text, or e-mail with your needs and we can accommodate!!

General large-scale design work fits into 1 of 3 packages based on estimated time needed, and are deducted from your overall project if you move forward:

  • Package 1: $350

  • Package 2: $700

  • Package 3: $1100

What is the average cost to remodel a kitchen?
We receive this question a lot, and the answer breaks down in a few different ways, as there are many “ways” to update your kitchen:

  • To fully GUT your kitchen down to the studs and re-build, the industry standard STARTS at $75,000

  • To reface your cabinets, make light footprint changes, update countertops, backsplash, and hardware is around $20-$30 (Size contingent)

  • To paint cabinets, update counters, and add a new backsplash is around $10K-$20K (Size contingent)

What is the average cost to remodel a bathroom?

  • To fully GUT your bathroom down to the studs and re-build, the industry standard STARTS at $25K.

  • To get rid of your existing tub, make your shower larger (we get this request A LOT) and leave everything else still hovers around $20K (BIGGEST driver of cost in both scenario is tile labor)
